What’s HDPE?

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene, referred to as “HDPE”) is also called the low-pressure Polyethylene, is a kind of High crystallinity, nonpolar surfaces appear a certain degree of translucent. PE has excellent resistance to most domestic and industrial chemicals.

HDPE is a kind of high crystallinity, non – polar thermoplastic resin. High-density polyethylene (hdpe) is a kind of white powder granular product, non-toxic, tasteless, with a density of 0.940~0.976 g/cm3. Crystallinity is 80% ~ 90%, softening point is 125 ~ 135 ℃, using temperature is 100 ℃; Melting temperature of 120 ~ 160 ℃, for larger molecular materials, suggested that melting temperature range between 200 ~ 250 ℃.

HDPE has good heat and cold resistance, good chemical stability, high rigidity and toughness, good mechanical strength. Dielectric properties, environmental stress cracking resistance is also good. Hardness, tensile strength and creep are better than low-density polyethylene. Wear resistance, electrical insulation, toughness and cold resistance are better but slightly worse than low-density insulation; Good chemical stability, insoluble in an organic solvent at room temperature, resistant to acid, alkali and all kinds of salt corrosion; Thin film has low permeability and water absorption to water vapor and air. Poor aging resistance, environmental cracking resistance is not as good as low-density polyethylene, especially thermal oxidation will make its performance decline, so, resin need to add antioxidants and ultraviolet absorbent to improve this lack. The heat deformation temperature of hdpe film under stress is low.
