Standard Practice for Geogrid Construction of Subgrade Engineering
Construction process: construction preparation (material transportation, lofting) → substrate treatment (cleaning) → geogrid laying (laying method, overlap width) → filler (method, particle size) → rolling grid → lower grid paving.
① Foundation treatment
First, the lower layer should be leveled and rolled. The flatness should not be greater than 15㎜, and the compactness should meet the design requirements. The surface should not have hard protrusions such as crushed stones and block stones.
② Geogrid laying
a. When storing and laying the wholesale fiberglass geogrid, avoid direct exposure and prolonged exposure to avoid performance degradation.
b. Lay perpendicular to the direction of the line, the overlap meets the design drawing requirements, the connection is firm, the strength at the joint in the direction of the force is not less than the design tensile strength of the material, and its overlap length is not less than 20cm.
c. The quality of the geogrid complies with the design drawings.
d. Maintain continuity of construction, without distortion, wrinkles, or overlap. Pay attention to the tension of the grid to make it stressed. Use manual tightening to make it uniform, flat and close to the lower bearing surface. Fix it with nails and other measures.
e. When the geogrid is in the same direction as the cross-section of the line, the geogrid should be straightened and flattened. The grid ends are handled as designed.
f. Fill the geogrid in time after paving, and the interval should not exceed 48h to avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
After the grid is laid, it should be filled in time. The filling is performed symmetrically according to the principle of “first two sides, then middle”, and it is strictly prohibited to fill the middle of the embankment first. The filler is not allowed to be unloaded directly on the geogrid. It must be unloaded on the paved soil surface. The unloading height is not greater than 1m. All vehicles and construction machinery are not allowed to walk directly on the paved fiberglass geogrid manufacturers, and they are only allowed to drive along the embankment.
④ Roll the grill
After the first layer of filling has reached the predetermined thickness and is rolled to the design compactness, the grid is rolled back and wrapped to 2m and tied to the previous layer of geogrid, and the anchor is manually trimmed. Fence to prevent human damage.
⑤ Complete one layer of geogrid laying in accordance with the above method, and follow the same method steps for the other layers of grid laying. After the grid has been laid, the upper embankment will begin to be filled.
① The direction of maximum strength of the grid should be consistent with the direction of maximum stress.
② Try to avoid heavy vehicles driving directly on the paved fiberglass geogrid factory price.
③ Minimize the amount of cutting and stitching of the geogrid to avoid waste.
④ During construction in cold season, the geogrid becomes hard, and it is easy to cut your hands and wipe your knees. Pay attention to safety.
